Our mission is to ‘nurture a strong sense of community through the coordination of Special Events in the City of Frederick.’ Some of our signature events include the Summer Concert Series, Frederick’s 4th, In The Streets, and the Kris Kringle Procession.
Girls on the Run of Mid & Western Maryland (GOTR) inspires girls to be joyful, healthy, and confident using a fun, experiential curriculum that creatively integrates running and physical activity. We offer after-school and summer activities for girls in 3rd-8th grade where they learn critical life skills, such as how to manage emotions, help others, resolve conflict, and make thoughtful decisions. Physical activity is woven into each lesson to create an appreciation of fitness and healthy habits.
The TGP Homes Team is committed to bettering our community through acts of kindness and generosity. One of those initiatives is the upcoming Frederick Sports Mural. The Frederick Sports Mural will be located on the grounds of the Frederick Keys Stadium facing 355 & 70. Local artist, Yemi will create images of local athletes that celebrate 125 years of local sports history in more than 30 sports and recognizes 5 coaches and 250 athletes, including a horse. Once completed it will be one of the World’s largest sports murals completed by a single artist.

Through comprehensive care coordination, mental health services, and vital community connections, they aim to make a tangible difference in the lives of veterans and their families. With a mission to save lives and build resilience, Platoon 22 provides essential resources, including access to mental health programs, transportation services, and veteran-centered support initiatives. Their commitment is to ensure that veterans receive the care and support they need to transition successfully and thrive in civilian life.
The Frederick County 4-H Youth Development Program provides a supportive and inclusive setting for all youth to reach their fullest potential in a diverse society. Youth learn beneficial and cognitive life skills through community-focused, research-based experiential education programs through in-school and after-school programs, school and community clubs, and 4‑H camp. Kids complete hands-on projects in areas like health, science, agriculture, and citizenship in a positive environment where they receive guidance from adult mentors and are encouraged to take on proactive leadership roles.

Habitat for Humanity of Frederick County, Maryland, is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing affordable homeownership and critical home repairs and supporting the community through the Habitat ReStore. We believe everyone deserves a safe, stable place to call home and that affordable housing is key to building strong, thriving communities. Our vision is a world where everyone has a decent place to live, and we are committed to making this a reality for Frederick County residents.
The Great Frederick Fair Inc. exists to promote Agriculture and the Education of our Youth about the Industry of Agriculture. We host an annual 9-day Fair showcasing agriculture and agricultural education. The Fair’s number ONE priority is education and the Fair works cooperatively with partner organizations in the community.
The Arc of Frederick County provides individually designed support services and collaborates with the community to build inclusive programs and networks of support for adults and children with developmental disabilities. Founded by parents in 1958 because community programs for children and adults with disabilities did not exist, The Arc continues to be a leader in advocacy efforts and the creation of new services for families today. The Arc of Frederick County supports more than 600 people each year.
FITCI is dedicated to fostering the growth of entrepreneurial ventures in Frederick, Maryland. As an entrepreneurial community, FITCI runs business incubation and accelerator programs that nurture innovation and support startups and small businesses. FITCI provides companies with the resources, mentorship, collaborative environment, and community they need to grow, succeed, and scale. FITCI offers tailored programs, state-of-the-art workspaces, including offices and labs, and access to a network of industry experts to help drive commercial development in technology, biotech, and other emerging sectors. Since 1911, the Federated Charities Nonprofit Center has promoted collaborative opportunities for nonprofits. Located in the heart of Downtown Frederick, the organization keeps the lights on and the roof up for 16 community-based organizations. Each year, our investment in their success means that they collectively have more than $250,000 to spend on critical services in our community. Our building on Market Street is the heart of charity, and our iconic dog statue on the front steps is a symbol of a city that cares for everyone who walks our streets.
United Way of Frederick County mobilizes the caring power of our whole community to improve lives. With a focus on local ALICE (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed) households and those who work yet struggle to make ends meet, United Way provides programs that address fundamental needs like housing, transportation, and careers. Key programs include the Ride United Network (RUN), budget coaching and credit counseling, free income tax preparation, and matched savings to purchase a home or vehicle. Through collaborations with local nonprofits, elected officials, and community partners, United Way identifies and addresses critical issues for our ALICE neighbors to build a more financially stable future for themselves and their families.
